Happy Birthday!

I got a lot of great birthday wishes from people, as they entered the Marla Mason Giveaway. Today is the last day to enter. I wanted to take a moment and wish other readers with July birthdays a Happy Birthday. Also Mur has a temporally near birthday.

In my iPod news, I listened to the first Seventh Son book, by J.C. Hutchins. This guy can tell a great story. The science kinda makes it feel like Sci Fi written 40-50 years ago, but it’s self consistent and enthusiastically described. It’s the characters that make this story and I absolutely love the clone theme. The Keys to Publishing contest has started. Listen to discover key 1 and key 2. Also, I’ve been working my way through my backlog of Escape Pod.

It’s been over a week since I posted a review, but I have been reading. I read The Age of the Conglomerates. Check out LibraryThing if you want reviews of that. I’m currently reading (and loving) Ragamuffin and treating myself to the stories from The Ant King: And Other Stories that are available online. Check back soon, for reviews of those. Check back tomorrow, to see who won the Marla Mason books

  1. Say, thanks for checking out 7th Son and spreading the word! I’m thrilled you’re digging it so far!

  2. And for the record, the statement in this post of “I read The Age of the Conglomerates.” was about as much of a review as I could handle of it without being mean. At some point I’ll work on my negative review skills ( figuring a way to do one without being mean ) and I’ll give this one a go.
